In this episode of Awkward Silence, we welcome Brandt back to the show, learn that Brandt hates old people (ie; people over 50) and talk comedy with our headliner Don Barnhart (MTV, Evening at the Improv, ABC, CBS, FOX, Sirius/XM Radio). This is good stuff, people. Tell a friend. Show notes:

  • Walking on railroad tracks and getting fit
  • LA update
  • Watching a comedian hit an audience member
  • Old crowds

  • Being humble and working your ass off
  • Bombing after George Wallace
  • Clarion Gig
  • Comedy vs. Hypnosis
  • Bookers are evil
  • Hell Gig (comedy for a deaf audience)

“If I’m doing Facebook jokes for fifty-year-olds, they (50 year old people) suck.”

A big FAN of Don’s!! Had the pleasure of his company on a flight from Seattle to Vegas a few years back. Been a fan ever since!

  2. Don Barnhart says:

Thanks for a great interview! Wanna come see me live? Mention Vegas Video and get in FREE to my Vegas show at The Clarion Hotel. (Does not include $5 service fee/tax.)

    Keep on laughing, Don

  3. Jim Bassett says:

This interview with Don has turned out to be absolutely true. He has allowed new and veteran comedians to get on stage with some great audience. I’ve been lucky enough to open for Don, Kathleen Dunbar and other headliners in the short time the show has been open.

Thanks to Don for being true to his word and supporting the comedy community.

Yep, Don is the best, no question. I hope to get my first spot there this week. Hope I get a chance to work with you in the near future Jim!
