Living in Las Vegas #180: A First-Hand Look at the Wonderful Life of a High Roller (Audio)

Living in Las Vegas is back!

Scott and Melissa start the New Year by recapping their New Year’s Eve festivities on The Strip. After we reveal the best place ever to park on New Year’s Eve, we pull the curtain back and see how the high rollers live when they come to Vegas. We start by sipping (and spilling) some wine that we found not so fine, nibble at the only 3-Star Michelin restaurant in town, and count our winnings in a unique sky-high suite! (ALERT: You’ll see the largest “winning stack” you’ll likely have ever seen…don’t miss it!)

Living in Las Vegas #128: What to do When Your Studio Dies (Audio)

In a first for the Living in Las Vegas Podcast, after over six years of successful shows, we have a complete studio failure at the PodWorx studio (vs. the Vegas Video Network studio). This episode is the result of that event. (Anybody want to buy a $7900 computer. . .that doesn’t power up?)

Roku Trivia Question: We Have a Winner!

After pouring through our entries for the Vegas Video Network One-Year Anniversary trivia question for a Roku 2 XD Streaming Player, we have a winner.  As a reminder, here’s the question:

"Beginning with the first Pub Crawl episode on October 6th, 2010 and ending on October 8th, 2011, how many episodes network-wide have we produced on the Vegas Video Network?"

We excluded any video that wasn’t part of a show (VVN Events, studio building videos, etc.) The contest closed at end-of-business Friday, October 14. Because we didn’t get an exact correct answer, the rule is the closest answer without going over will win.

First, let’s take a look at the numbers:

SHOW

# of Episodes

Pub Crawl

48

Getting REAL (Estate) in Vegas

  48

Living in Las Vegas

  46

Awkward Silence 2.1 (& 1.0)

  37

  34

  23

  22

  19

Cup of Morning Sunshine

  10

Behind the Curtain

  6

Strip Search

5

Local’s Choice Radio

  1

TOTAL

299

Our winner is Tony from Canada with a guess of 277 is Bob with a guess of 295. (Yep, I forgot to count Strip Search in the first post. Whoops!  My guess is Tony is hating me right now!)  I should give a helluva attaboy to Bob from Vegas Life Today who was the closest with a guess of 295, but he was over the total. (Nevermind all that. . .Bob is the winner!)

We’ll be contacting Tony Bob and get his shipping information to get his shiny new Roku player to him.

Congrats Tony Bob. . .and thanks to all who participated!

Vegas Video Network One-Year Anniversary Live Show

On October 2nd, 2010, the VEGAS VIDEO NETWORK was launched. In celebration of this special event, we take a look back at the year by highlighting the business, the people, the videos (great highlight reel here!) and momentum behind VVN. We wrapped up the party with a triva question for our online viewers (live and video-on-demand), for whom the winner will receive a Roku 2 XD player.

Be the first with the correct answer and win a Roku 2 XD Player.

Here’s the question:

Beginning with the first Pub Crawl episode on October 6th, 2010 and ending on October 8th, 2011, how many episodes network-wide have we produced on the Vegas Video Network?

Contest will close at end-of-business Friday, October 14. First correct answer wins. If no correct answer is received by EOB 10/14, the closest answer without going over will win.

Send your entry to roku@vegasvideonetwork.com Good luck!
